Ole Ole Bali

A cosy Saturday nite dinner at Ole Ole Bali; SohoKL, Mont Kiara. We were seated outside the restaurant on a big wooden chair with big cushion pillows under an oversized umbrella. The ambience was cosy and comfy - great place to hang out. The interior and decos of this restaurant is very much Balinese style. Got to know that Ole Ole Bali is a sister company of Bumbu Bali which is located at Puchong. My friend told me that the food menu is the same!
Drinks were served first. Barley Lime juice is a concoction of barley juice and lime. The taste is extremely refreshing! A jug of barley lime which cost RM18 can serve up to 5 person. A better bargain if you go for a glass of barley lime which cost RM6.

Barley Lime Jug - RM18

So-called appetizer for the evening is sate lilit. Grilled meat paste (not sure what meat it is; most probably chicken or seafood) on serai/lemongrass stalks. This sate is not the usual satay you get from those satay stalls. This sate is minced meat so when you take a bite on it, it is soft and juicy. yummy~

Sate Lilit (4 sticks) - RM15

Another appetizer, Grilled Squid Salad. You can opt either grilled squid or chicken for this salad. Slices of oranges and keropok add a lil' twist to this salad. There are cherry tomatoes, chunks of carrots and cabbage in this salad served with grilled squid. The squids are tasty though a bit burnt.

Grilled Squid Salad - RM14

Now comes the main dish - Nasi Campur Ole Ole. A big plate of nasi campur with rice, grilled fish, chicken rendang, grilled squid and prawns, fried kangkung, acar-acar, sate lilit and keropok served with chilli sauce. I wonder how could 1 person finish this whole plate! I would really recommend this dish to you as this whole plate of nasi campur taste so good especially the grilled fish!

Nasi Campur Ole Ole Bali - RM33

Next is Nasi Kambing Bumbu. Again, a big plate of rice served with pan fried mutton, fried kangkung, acar-acar and keropok. The mutton is fried with basil leaves and dried chillies. The mutton pieces were soft and tender.

Nasi Kambing Bumbu - RM26

Ole Ole Trio is a combination of sate lilit (4 pieces), grilled chicken wings and deep fried sotong (also known as fried calamari). Among the three, I liked cumi-cumi goreng (deep fried sotong) the most.

Ole Ole Trio - RM38

Deserts time! Ice Campur is an ice concoction of bits of fruits (watermelon and honeydew) in santan milk with sago and mango slices. The santan taste very strong - not to my liking but my friend love it so much that she cant stop scopping this desert to her mouth :p

Ice Campur - RM11
Another bowl of desert - Banana Bowl. 3 scoops of ice cream served with banana and wafer pieces ; drizzled with chocolate and strawberry sauce.
This time, my turn to scooped the ice cream non stop :p haha..

Banana Bowl - RM13

Overall, the food is nice and the ambience is cosy. I would definitely come here again.
